Brian is a thought leader in digital health with a focus on health data use, exchange, and analytics in
support of health system transformation. He was member of the Consumer Technology Task
Force, a Joint Collaboration of the Health IT Policy and Standards Committees which makes
recommendations and provides insight on ONC/HHS projects and initiatives. He is a founding
Board member of DirectTrust and also served on the Board of the Sequoia Project, a non-profit
for the public good. I have worked extensively on the Direct Project since its inception. He
served as President of Gorge Health Connect, Inc. a non-profit health information exchange
organization, assisted in forming the plans for HIE in Oregon, served on the HIO Executive Panel
and served as Chairperson of the Technology Workgroup for the Health Information Technology
Oversight Council in Oregon.
