We are honored to open with our keynote speaker, Phil Abraham, Chief Innovation Officer for Brilliancy Deep Tech and widely recognized as the “Godfather of Supply Chain.” A globally renowned technology futurist and complexity scientist, Phil’s 40-year career is defined by transformative innovations that have reshaped industries. At age 18, while at Kmart, Phil invented the Kmart Schedule Manager, later renamed Manugistics, a revolutionary supply chain solution acquired by Panasonic for over $7 billion to serve as their global supply chain platform. Over 16 years at Kmart, Phil built the nation’s most efficient supply chain, training Walmart executives on his “zero cost per hundred weight” methodology, a cornerstone of their success. Recruited by Domino’s CEO Tom Monaghan, Phil pioneered the 30-minute delivery model, driving a tenfold expansion and facilitating the company’s sale to Bain Capital. At General Motors, under Vice Chairman Harry Pearce, Phil led a global operations review, creating platforms like Vector, 5PL, and Covisint—the leading cloud platform for Identity and IoT applications—enabling secure connectivity for over 3,000 organizations, over 200,000 partners, and over $4 billion in annual e-commerce transactions. His GM tenure included pioneering executive decision-making research under Peter Drucker, shaping software patents through CloudFace LLC. After GM, Phil founded Ave Maria to advance cloud strategies for Catholic Healthcare, leading initiatives like The Resource Group and One Ascension. Subsequently, at Loma Linda University Medical Center, his complexity science and advanced analytics delivered $36 million in cost savings, generating $60,000 per bed in revenue growth in a 600-bed hospital, while significantly improving patient outcomes, reducing readmissions, and increasing reimbursements. The most remarkable thing about Phil’s success story at Loma Linda is that he achieved all of this without disturbing or engaging in doctor/nurse/patient relations. As Dr. Paul Norris, Former Executive Director of Loma Linda University Pharmacy, noted, “Phil and his team introduced a thought process that opened our eyes to other ways of looking at our processes; from the manufacturer, through the buying group, to the wholesaler and to the patient. These processes which were implemented are still in use today, long after our engagement with Phil has ended.”This enduring impact reflects Phil’s ability to reframe complex challenges, a hallmark of “The Abraham Methodologies” that continue to drive Brilliancy’s vision.
